Demos Immediately Before Classes*
Have you ever attended a dance event — especially a multi-track dance event — and found that the class titles and descriptions weren't as useful as you would have liked in helping you to decide which classes you wanted to take? We have the answer to that! Just before each class period starts, the instructors will give a brief demo to illustrate what they will be covering in their class.
Class titles and descriptions certainly can serve a useful purpose. But because dance is about movement and words lack movement, we believe that they are not the best way to get information about dance classes. Just as a picture is worth a thousand words in describing something visual, so a demo is worth at least ten thousand words in describing something kinesthetic.

*A special thank you to the Fusion Exchange, where we first experienced the usefulness of demos in clarifying what a class was going to cover. We found that, although we had read all the class titles/descriptions, after watching a brief demo — usually one minute or less — we frequently changed our minds about what class we wanted to attend. This experience was so positive that we decided to use them during ABQFX.
